Electronically Voided or Corrected Claims

Below are the steps you will need to take to submit an electronically corrected or voided claim:

  1. Go to Client Sessions and select the date of the session to correct or void, then click the yellow folder with the red check to "Edit Session". If you have already posted an EOB against the session, you may enter a new Client Session for the same date and client.
  2. Click to expand the section titled Referring Prov & Prior Auth.
  3. In the Resubmission Code box, enter one of these codes:
    1. 7 - REPLACEMENT (Replacement of Prior Claim/Corrected Claim) 
    2. 8 - VOID (Void/Cancel of Prior Claim) 
  4. In the Orig Ref box, enter the payer assigned Internal Claim Number (ICN). Some payers send this number on the original EOB, or you can contact the insurance company to obtain the number.  For some payers, you may need to find the ICN number on-line.
  5. Save the Client Session.

If this is a correction to an existing client session, you can resubmit the claim by clicking on the Electronic Claims Status icon in the Balances Due You report, and then on Resubmit Now.
If a new client session was entered, the claim may be invoiced in Invoice Clients and Insurance.
